Here is a quick overview of this coming week in the fruit and vegetable markets. You should expect:

Apples: Large Granny Smith remain limited in Washington.

Blackberries: Supplies remain limited with domestic fruit and quality is fair.

Raspberries: Mexico production delayed due to recent rains.

Oranges: California Valencia orange season is coming to an early end. Demand far exceeds supplies.

Cucumbers: There are quality issues to watch out for in older fields.

Lettuces: Spring mix, arugula, and baby spinach supplies are extremely limited as an industry due to limited supplies in the Salinas growing region.

Onions: Transportation very limited.

Potatoes: Transportation is very limited. Potato supplies transitioning from field run to coming out of the storages.

Squash: Some quality issues on yellow squash.

Hopefully, this market information will help you to plan specials, promotions, and make menu adjustments in advance of the rapidly changing produce markets.
