GOFRESH TO CONTINUE USDA BOX PROGRAM IN JULY AND AUGUST 2020
(Tulsa, OK, 7/1/2020) GoFresh is excited to announce its continued partnership with the USDA to bring the “Farmers to Families Food Box” program back to the Midwest and Southwest during the months of July and August 2020. GoFresh is gearing up to replicate the approximately 2 million boxes and over 50 million pounds of produce and dairy delivered on behalf of the USDA into the hands of American families during the months of May and June. Each of these boxes was free of charge to the recipients, courtesy of the USDA.
GoFresh will provide six different types of boxes through the program. The contents of the boxes are all US domestic products and range across the spectrum of dairy and produce products. The distribution network for these boxes consists entirely of 501(c)(3) non-profit charities, food banks, schools, and Native American Tribes. All 501(c)(3) organizations are encouraged to apply to be a partner to receive and distribute boxes.
Individuals and families seeking a location and time to pick up boxes can find a calendar of locations and events at https://gofreshusa.com/events/
The spread of coronavirus has impacted nearly every individual and industry in the United States. To accommodate the needs of food banks and other non-profits that are actively serving Americans in need, President Trump and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced a $19 billion Coronavirus Food Assistance Program on April 17, 2020.
We are making every effort possible to utilize local farms first.
Are you a local farm in the SW region and would like to participate in getting your products in the boxes?
